A car will be necessary to arrive at the meeting point and for the duration of the day, as there is no public transit or shuttles available. Bathing suits may be a desired bring-along.
The nearest airport is Sydney, Nova Scotia, though most international flights arrive in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is a 4-5 hour drive from the Cape Breton Highlands. Bathrooms are limited, so toilet paper is handy. Ensure you are able to hike uphill/up steep inclines.
