  • Climate: Desert climate or arid climate: Dry, with big temperature difference between night and day. Hot & sunny days with little shade and cold nights.
    The Utah desert is beautiful, but also very fragile and rugged. For your elopement in the Utah desert, you must come prepared for extreme temperature swings (often changing 15° in less than a few hours) between nighttime and daytime. We require that our couples stay on trails and follow local guidelines to protect our beautiful landscape.

  • Recommended months: October – April has amazing weather temperatures! During the late spring and summer, be prepared for hot temps and dry air.

This is just a sample itinerary for your Utah elopement at Red Rock, depending on time booked (sunrise or sunset).

 

Utah elopement itinerary in summer with sunset wedding photos:

4:00 – 5:30 PM: Meet at the getting ready location to meet the couple and grab photos there.

5:30 – 6:00 PM: Drive to location separately.

6:00 PM: Meet at Snow Canyon.

6:00 – 8:00 PM: Drive to petrified dunes, elopement ceremony and explore the area with lots of photos taken!

8:00 PM: Enjoy celebratory drink, late night picnic and enjoy the setting sun and Southern Utah sky!

I conduct adventure sessions in any weather, but may have to visit alternative (but still epic) locations should it be unsafe to proceed (e.g. flash flood warnings).

What is not included in your Utah Elopement at Red Rock

Travel to/from Snow Canyon and Dixie National Forest before and after your trip. The nearest regional airport is St. George Municipal Airport (30 minute drive) and the nearest international airport is the Las Vegas McCarren International Airport (2 hour drive). We highly recommend renting a car as there’s no public transit servicing the areas we’ll be visiting.

What to bring to your Utah Elopement at Red Rock

  • Wedding dress/suit for you and your partner
  • Hiking boots or hiking sandals to move comfortably during your Utah Elopement at Red Rock
  • Layers (a sweater or jacket, fleece tights under your dress, etc.)
  • Small backpack with a hydration pack or water bottles that can carry at least 1L of water.
  • A hat, sunscreen & sunglasses

This is a micro elopement package with light hiking and climbing up over sandstone, so good balance and fitness are a must!
