Ann & Lars came all the way from Australia to the other side of the world to elope in Austria. Victoria & Fabian, our Austrian Elopement Experts, organized and photographed their Hiking Wedding.
Late autumn is one of our favorite seasons in the mountains. Everything is so calm when the summer season ends, and people and nature await the snow. You need to be open for an adventure if you want to elope in the mountains at the end of October, as the weather is pretty unpredictable. If you are lucky, you get the most beautiful golden light, but there is also a good chance for fresh snow, which is just as beautiful but makes some of the hiking trails inaccessible.

Hiking Wedding Elopement in Austria - the Picnic
The next highlight of the day was a cozy breakfast picnic. We continued to explore the places around us and take beautiful wedding photos before we started to hike back down to the valley. We chose a traditional Austrian restaurant for lunch, where they tried some regional specialties before we continued the adventurous day.
Hiking Wedding Elopement in Austria - Waterfall & Sunset Photos
In the afternoon, we visited some waterfalls that were hidden in a forest. We had a lot of rain in the weeks before the elopement, so the water level of the river was quite high. Ann and Lars still loved the idea of getting directly to the waterfall and walked through the water to get to the most beautiful spot.
We ended the day by watching the sunset back in the mountains, where Ann and Lars did a first dance in the last light of the day.
