Your Sicily Elopement - Itinerary
Sunset times vary by season, so your Sicily elopement can be tailored to your vision. The itinerary can be adjusted based on your preferences and lighting conditions.
16:30 – Meet at Piazza IX Aprile or at your hotel (historic center).
16:45 – Walk to medieval alleys & Sicilian balconies for portraits.
17:15 – Arrive at your ceremony location (Villa Comunale or scenic terrace).
17:30 – Vow exchange and intimate moments during your Sicily elopement.
18:15 – Drive (taxi) to Isola Bella Beach (approx 20 min).
18:35 – Board a scenic boat tour around Isola Bella (approx. 30 min).
19:05 – Final toast on the boat at the end of the tour.
19:15 – Golden hour & sunset photos on the beach at Isola Bella.
20:15 – Return to the taxi and drive back to Taormina.
20:30 – Your Sicily elopement ends at your hotel or agreed drop-off location.
Your Sicily Elopement - Comments
There is the possibility to reschedule your Sicily elopement by +-2 days in case of bad weather. We’ll adjust the itinerary to ensure you still have an amazing elopement. If rain is expected, we can rearrange activities, choose sheltered locations, or move indoors. Please note that the boat tour may be canceled for safety reasons. We’ll work closely with you to find the best solution.
The vow exchange can take place in any public area of Taormina, such as the Giardini Comunali (Villa Comunale) or a scenic terrace, at no cost. The ceremony location can also be adjusted to fit your preferred setting, whether it’s a panoramic terrace, a secluded garden, or a beachfront spot.

There is a possibility to get legally married: I can assist you with the legal requirements for your Sicily elopement and ensure everything is arranged for a smooth process. I can connect you with trusted local wedding planners and officiants who specialize in legal ceremonies in Taormina. They can assist with all the necessary documentation, including the Nulla Osta for foreign nationals. Getting married legally in Italy usually takes 1 to 3 months. This time includes submitting paperwork, obtaining necessary approvals, and scheduling the ceremony. If you are a foreign national, it may take longer because you need to translate and authenticate your documents. If you decide to elope in Sicily, note that the process isn’t very difficult, but it can be time-consuming and requires careful attention.
Required Documents:
For foreigners – Valid passports, birth certificates, and sometimes a Nulla Osta (an affidavit stating that you are free to marry, obtained from your embassy). These documents must be translated into Italian and legalized.
For locals, Italian citizens only need their identity card and a marriage request form submitted to the town hall.
Costs:
Civil ceremony fee – 1760 USD to be paid directly to the Municipality of Taormina.
Translation and legalization of documents – The cost for translating documents and obtaining the Nulla Osta can range from 110 USD to 330 USD, depending on the complexity of the documents and the service provider.

Your Sicily Elopement - Tips & Info
The nearest airport to Taormina is Catania Fontanarossa International Airport (CTA), located approximately 1 hour away. From the airport, you can reach Taormina by private transfer or taxi (recommended for convenience), bus (Interbus service runs regularly, with a travel time of about 1.5 hours), or train to Taormina-Giardini station followed by a taxi or bus to the town center. A rental car is not necessary, as Taormina is best explored on foot.
Mild fitness level required – Some walking and stairs are involved.
If you are prone to motion sickness, consider taking precautions for the boat ride.
If you love adventure, elope in Sicily with me, and I will organize an additional excursion to Mount Etna for you, where you can capture stunning post-wedding photos in a unique volcanic landscape (weather permitting).
The boat tour and Etna excursion may not be suitable for infants or toddlers.
If you plan to bring dogs, I will confirm in advance whether dogs are allowed on the boat tour. Small dogs may need to be carried up stairs or over cobblestones. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets.
All details will be coordinated in advance to ensure that your Sicily elopement is seamless and stress-free.
