Meet your Elopement Planner & Photographer in Colorado

Colorado Elopement PlannerHello, I am Emily.

Outdoor enthusiast turned mountain-town wedding and elopement planner. For the past 10 years, the San Juan Mountains have been my home, and there’s nothing I love more than sharing their beauty with adventurous couples. When I’m not helping couples craft unforgettable elopements, you’ll find me exploring Colorado’s back roads, hiking, or camping with my husband and our two dogs.

I believe weddings should be more than just a six-hour event—they should be an experience, a true reflection of who you are. It’s just as much about building a beautiful life together as it is about planning a beautiful wedding. That’s why I take an authentic, experience-first approach, encouraging couples to stay true to their values and personalities above all else.

If you’re dreaming of an intimate, adventure-filled elopement in the heart of the mountains, I’m here to make it happen. I’ll be there personally at your jeep elopement in Colorado. If you have specific preferences or special touches you want to include on your San Juan mountain elopement or even afterward, please let me know.

Your jeep elopement in Colorado is about celebrating your love in a way that feels true to you. Let’s create something unforgettable.

Jeep rental costs vary depending on the number of guests, chosen ceremony location, and the rental company’s availability.

The weather in Colorado can be unpredictable, but that’s part of the adventure. A little rain can make for a beautifully romantic atmosphere and stunning photos. I always come prepared with clear umbrellas and creative ideas to ensure the weather becomes a highlight, not a hindrance, of your jeep elopement in Colorado.

LGBTQ+ friendly: Love is love, and every couple’s story deserves to be celebrated authentically. I’m honored to create a safe, inclusive space where you can express your love freely.

There is a possibility to get legally married: If you’d like to make it official, I can assist Colorado locals in getting legally married. Marriage licenses are issued at the Ouray County Courthouse (Monday–Thursday, 9 AM–4 PM). Both partners must be present with a valid ID (e.g., passport or driver’s license). You can apply up to 35 days before your ceremony. Afterward, simply return the signed certificate within 63 days to have it officially recorded—your marriage isn’t legally recognized until this step is complete.

Marriage Application Fees

  • 30 USD + 1.50 USD for each certified copy (Cash or check only)

And here’s a fun Colorado perk – You can self-solemnize your marriage—no officiant needed. A friend or family member can also officiate, or even your dog can “sign” the license with a paw print as a witness!

Payment Plan & Terms:

  • A 15% deposit is payable directly through the platform to secure your date. Adventure Wedding Platform’s 21-day money-back guarantee applies.

Your Jeep Elopement in Colorado - Tips & Infos

  • Purchase travel insurance to protect your trip against unexpected delays or cancellations.
  • Plan to arrive 2–3 days before your San Juan mountain elopement to acclimate to the higher elevation and avoid altitude-related issues.
  • There are two regional airports within a 45-minute to 2-hour drive of Ouray, CO.
  • Take time to explore our charming mountain towns before and after your jeep elopement in Colorado! We’re happy to provide a curated list of local hikes, hot springs, breweries, and restaurants for you to enjoy.
  • Dress code – Wedding practical. Dresses and suits are welcome, but be sure to bring a jacket and flat shoes—the mountain terrain can be rocky, uneven, and weather can shift quickly.
  • Expect a bumpy ride! The rougher the road, the more epic the views. If you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking non-drowsy Dramamine 30–40 minutes before departure.
  • Our ceremony locations are between 9,000 and 11,000 feet above sea level. Be sure to hydrate well, especially in the days leading up to your San Juan mountain elopement.
  • We always hire experienced Jeep guides to take us to your ceremony spot. Before boarding, everyone will be asked to sign a waiver.
  • Remember, Mother Nature sets the pace—and that’s part of the adventure! We’ll bring umbrellas and build flexibility into our timeline in case we need to wait out a storm in the vehicles.
