There is a possibility to get legally married: If you’d like to make it official, I can assist Colorado locals in getting legally married. Marriage licenses are issued at the Ouray County Courthouse (Monday–Thursday, 9 AM–4 PM). Both partners must be present with a valid ID (e.g., passport or driver’s license). You can apply up to 35 days before your ceremony. Afterward, simply return the signed certificate within 63 days to have it officially recorded—your marriage isn’t legally recognized until this step is complete.

Dress code – Wedding practical. Dresses and suits are welcome, but be sure to bring a jacket and flat shoes—the mountain terrain can be rocky, uneven, and weather can shift quickly.
Expect a bumpy ride! The rougher the road, the more epic the views. If you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking non-drowsy Dramamine 30–40 minutes before departure.
Our ceremony locations are between 9,000 and 11,000 feet above sea level. Be sure to hydrate well, especially in the days leading up to your San Juan mountain elopement.
We always hire experienced Jeep guides to take us to your ceremony spot. Before boarding, everyone will be asked to sign a waiver.
