Your Moraine Lake Elopement Wedding Photographers
Troy and I are like Hobbits. We love nature, animals, simple pleasures like watching the weather change, the smell of a campfire, a good beer and a tasty meal after an exhilarating day of skiing or hiking.
We discovered Banff while planning our own destination wedding. We lived in Los Angeles at the time. It was love at first sight!
I cried all the way home after our wedding! I didn’t want to leave. As it turns out, I didn’t have to. Troy finished his PhD and was offered a position teaching at Mt. Royal University in Calgary. We relocated here from L.A. and never looked back.
That was in 2007. Since then, our family has grown—2 kids, 3 dogs and 4 cats later, our Hobbit Hole is a chaotic mess of love and fur. Every day we marvel at our good fortune to live and work in such beauty. It’s an artist’s dream.
I think the Canadian Rockies are the most romantic place to get married. That’s why we created this Moraine Lake Elopement Wedding Package for you.
When I connect with a couple planning a wedding at Moraine Lake, I get goosebumps.
I know they are in for an experience of a lifetime.
We get it. We’ve been there ourselves. And we can’t wait to show you why we love it here.

Your Moraine Lake Wedding - Comments
If the weather conditions make it dangerous to proceed with parts of your Moraine Lake Wedding, the itinerary might be adjusted.
If arrangements cannot be made for accommodation at the Moraine Lake Lodge or transportation into Moraine Lake by shuttle or taxi is not available, alternatives to Moraine Lake will be discussed. Both Emerald Lake and Lake Louise are excellent substitutes.
Couples come to work with us from all over the world. Some are already married and are looking for inspired wedding portraits and unique adventures. If this describes you, we can alter this experience to fit your vision.
There are many incredible vistas within a short hike from the lake.
This adventure can also be combined with the Lake Louise Elopement experience. You will visit both of these world-famous lakes in one fantastic day.
You can end the day with Canada’s signature drink, Ice Wine martinis, and/or dinner at the Historic Station Restaurant in Lake Louise. Experience fine dining in the rustic building that served as the train station in the early 1900s or in your own private train box car!

How to prepare for your Moraine Lake Wedding?
Getting to Banff/Lake Louise :
The nearest international airport is in Calgary, AB, Canada (YYC). It is 138 km (85 miles) and takes approx. 75-90 min by car. Car rentals are available at the airport as well as airport shuttles that connect to Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise areas.
Where to stay?
It is easiest to stay at the Moraine Lake Lodge. Make your reservations as soon as possible:
Moraine Lake Road is closed to personal vehicles year round.
Parks Canada shuttles, Roam Public Transit, and commercial buses are permitted from June to mid-October. Exceptions will be made for visitors with valid parking placards, for people with disabilities and guests of Moraine Lake Lodge.
If you choose to stay in the Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise area, you will have to book a shuttle or taxi into the Moraine Lake area. Shuttles run daily from 6:30am to 6pm.
Best Budget Option – The Parks Canada Moraine Lake shuttles operate every 20 minutes throughout the day and cost only $8 for an adult. Reservations fill up quickly so be sure to book your seats asap.
Best Option to Get to Moraine Lake from Lake Louise – Moraine Lake Bus company offers sunrise shuttles to Moraine Lake, as well as shuttles throughout the day. All their shuttles leave from the Lake Louise Ski Resort Park and Ride.
Best Hotel Option – While expensive, staying at the Moraine Lake Lodge will give you all the time you want at this spectacular Banff lake.
Best Option to Get to Moraine Lake from Banff – With access to a car, the Parks Canada shuttle is still one of the best options. Without a car, the Moraine Lake Sunrise Shuttle and Explore Banff Tours & Transfers are the two best options. In September only, we recommend the Roam Bus Route 10 for visitors without a car as it goes direct from Banff to Moraine Lake.
The weather in the mountains is always changing! You can expect rain and/ or snow in any season! The warm season lasts from June to early Oct. with an average daily high temperature above 60F and into the 30s at night.
Despite it being summer, we suggest bringing hats, gloves and warm jackets. The temperature drops quickly once the sun goes down, and wind on the lake can be chilly! Hiking boots or comfortable shoes are a must. You can change into dress shoes once on location. The trails around the lake are smooth and well maintained.
Add-ons to your Morain Lake Elopement Package
