Meet your Lake Louise Elopement Photographers in Alberta

lake louise elopement photographers albertaTroy and I are like Hobbits. We love nature, animals, simple pleasures like watching the weather change, the smell of a campfire, a good beer and a tasty meal after an exhilarating day of skiing or hiking.

We discovered Banff while planning our own destination wedding. We lived in Los Angeles at the time. It was love at first sight!

I cried all the way home after our wedding! I didn’t want to leave. As it turns out, I didn’t have to. Troy finished his PhD and was offered a position teaching at Mt. Royal University in Calgary. We relocated here from L.A. and never looked back.

That was in 2007. Since then, our family has grown—2 kids, 3 dogs and 4 cats later, our Hobbit Hole is a chaotic mess of love and fur. Every day we marvel at our good fortune to live and work in such beauty. It’s an artist’s dream.

I think the Canadian Rockies are the most romantic place to get married. That’s why we created this Lake Louise Elopement Wedding Package for you.

Hiking during your Lake Louise Elopement Wedding:

The Plain of Six Glaciers Hike is one of the most beautiful in the Banff National Park. The wedding pictures we can create there will be one-of-a-kind and absolutely stunning!

Our journey will begin at the historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The first 3 km of the hike follows the same trail as the Lake Louise Lakeshore Trail, an easy paved trail with scenic views of the Chateau, lake mountains and glaciers. Along the way, you see massive glaciers and possibly hear the rumble of distant avalanches as the glaciers shift. Rivers, waterfalls, cliffs, wild flowers and wildlife will be plentiful. The trail ends at the historic Plain of Six Glaciers Tea Hut, a colorful rustic 3 story cabin where we can enjoy a cup of tea, slice of chocolate cake or traditional scones with jam and cream. These treats are made in the stone oven of the hut and made all the more delicious by the remoteness and exertion of our efforts!

Along the way we will take breaks to rest, admire the views and of course, make unforgettable wedding pictures of you.

We will turn around at the hut, or sooner if you desire, and head back to the Chateau Lake Louise.

You will be responsible for carrying your own small backpack with personal items, as we will have our hands full with our camera gear and lighting kit.

Distance: The round-trip distance of the Plain of Six Glaciers trail is 14.6km (one-way distance of 7.3km).

Elevation Gain: The total elevation gain you’ll encounter along the Six Glaciers Trail is 588m. There is virtually no elevation gain for the first 3.3km, but you’ll gain roughly 500m over the last 4km (for an average of 125m elevation gain per 1km on this leg).

Difficulty: The first 3.3km of the Plain of Six Glaciers hike is almost perfectly flat along the beautiful shores of Lake Louise. Once you reach the end of Lake Louise, the trail starts a slow, but steady incline for the final 4km.

Duration: It should take a typical adult about 4 hours to hike the full round-trip distance of the Plain of the Six Glaciers Trail. We’ve done it in as little as 3h 30m.
