Your Lapland Elopement - Tips & Infos
The nearest airport is in Rovaniemi, and you can fly there from Helsinki. Check for direct flights from your home country, as many routes are available during the winter months. Finnair is a great option. If you’re flying with two different airlines, allow at least 1.5 hours between your flights from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Renting a car for transportation is recommended, but not mandatory.
Check Airbnb and Booking for great accommodations. Log cabins are traditional in Lapland, but you might also consider staying in a glass igloo, a yurt, or an ice hotel.
If you decide to get married in Lapland during the winter months: Wear thermal layers underneath your wedding attire. Opt for snow boots (Sorel is a great brand) and ensure you have a very warm winter parka. Bring a beanie to cover your head as needed, along with gloves and hand and foot warmers.
If you decide to get married in Lapland during the summer and autumn: You can wear your wedding attire, but bring a sweater or rain jacket for warmth. Hiking boots are also a good idea to have.
Personal assistance is offered during the planning process.
