Meet your Florence Elopement Photographer

Italy Elopement PhotographerHello, I am Federico.

I have specialized in capturing weddings in Italy and events for an array of high-end international clients over the past 10 years. I love to travel for work, to meet new people, and to produce images that express natural emotion, elegance, and timeless sensations.

From an early age, I approached the world of photography thanks to the teachings of my father, getting carried away more and more by this fantastic world made of real emotions.

Immortalizing every moment was so unique and special!

There is a possibility to get legally married: To get married in Florence as a foreigner, the process involves several key steps, and the requirements may vary depending on your nationality. Here’s an overview of what to expect:

  1. Documents Needed:
    • Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) – Many countries, including the UK, require this certificate, which confirms that there are no legal barriers to your marriage. It must be obtained from your home country, translated, and legalized (apostilled).
    • Affidavit/Nulla Osta – For some countries, like Australia, an affidavit must be made before a consular officer. The Nulla Osta is a document from the consulate stating you’re free to marry.
    • Other Documentation – You may need additional documents such as birth certificates, valid passports, and possibly a statutory declaration signed before a notary.
  2. Bureaucratic Process – The documents must be submitted to the local municipality in Italy. After approval, you can set your wedding date, but the documents must be filed within 180 days of your arrival. This process can take some time to ensure all documents are properly legalized and translated.
  3. Costs – There are several administrative fees, such as revenue stamps for the Nulla Osta, affidavit, and other required forms. Expect to pay about 16 USD for each affidavit or 55 USD for the Nulla Osta (if applicable) and possible additional fees depending on the municipality and type of ceremony.
  4. Ceremony Locations – Civil ceremonies in Italy can be held at approved venues, such as town halls, villas, and public gardens. If you’re planning to marry in a church, you must meet specific religious requirements, and this may involve additional steps and time.
  5. Processing Time – The legal process can vary. Generally, it may take a few weeks to a couple of months to prepare the paperwork, especially if you are waiting for documents to be issued or translated. It is advised to start planning well in advance, especially if you are marrying in a church.
  6. It’s important to consult with the consulate of your country before Eloping in Florence to make sure you have all the necessary documents, and you may also want to contact the local municipality in Italy to confirm the exact requirements and fees.

Your Florence Elopement - Tips & Infos

We want to ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable elopement day, here are some helpful preparation tips if you get married in Florence:

  • Comfortable Shoes – Although you’ll be wearing your wedding dress, consider comfortable shoes for walking through Florence’s cobblestone streets. If your dress is long, we suggest comfortable flats or low heels for easy mobility. You can always change into your formal shoes for the vow exchange or key photos.
  • Dress Considerations – Florence’s streets can be uneven, so if you’re wearing a long gown, make sure it’s fitted or carried properly for walking. If you have a train, consider bringing a friend or having a helper with you to adjust it for the photos.
  • Weather Adaptations – If the weather is chilly (especially in autumn or winter), a stylish shawl or wrap can complement your dress while keeping you warm. In warmer months, lighter fabrics are recommended, but remember to bring layers for evening temperatures, as they can cool down quickly.
  • Walking on Cobblestones – Florence’s historical streets are beautiful but often uneven. We recommend practicing walking in your dress with your shoes before the big day to ensure comfort.
  • Prepare for Short Walks – If you choose to get married in Florence, our photo tour involves walking to various iconic spots around the city, and while the distances aren’t far, be prepared for brief walks between locations. If you are not comfortable walking too much in your dress, let us know in advance so we can adjust the itinerary or provide additional support.
  • Hydration – Especially in warmer months, remember to stay hydrated. Consider bringing a water bottle with you, though we will be providing breaks during your Florence Elopement.
  • Snacks – If you get hungry or need a quick energy boost, we suggest bringing small, non-messy snacks with you, like granola bars or fruit, to keep you energized during the session.
  • Timing – Arrive at the meeting point relaxed and ready to enjoy the day. The session involves multiple parts, but if you choose to get married in Florence, we’ll ensure you’re comfortable and that your gown and accessories are taken care of throughout.
  • Arrival in Florence – Florence’s Peretola Airport (FLR) is about 20 minutes by car from the city center. From Pisa International Airport (PSA), you can reach Florence by train in about 1 hour.
  • Getting to the Meeting Point – If you’re staying in Florence’s city center, your accommodation will likely be within walking distance of the historic sites we will be visiting. If not, taxis or ride-sharing services are available but be aware that Florence’s center is often pedestrian-only, so your driver may drop you off at the nearest accessible point.
  • Time for Getting Ready – If you get married in Florence, ensure you have enough time to get ready before the session. Most hotels are happy to provide space for changing into your wedding attire if needed.
  • Vow Preparation – If you’re writing your own vows, remember to bring a printed copy or your phone with your notes. If you need help with vow writing, please let us know ahead of time so we can assist.
  • Relax and Enjoy – Florence is one of the most romantic cities in the world—take in the sights, and enjoy each other’s company. Get married in Florence and let us capture your special moments.
  • Travel Insurance – While we strive to make everything run smoothly, we recommend securing travel insurance in case of any unexpected changes or delays during your Florence Elopement.
  • Travel Documents – If you’re traveling internationally, make sure your passport, visa, and any other required documents are in order before leaving for Florence.
  • Accommodation – If you are staying in Florence for more than one night, ensure you have your accommodation details sorted in advance.
  • We’ll meet at your accommodation in the city center. If you’re staying outside the center, let us know ahead of time, and we can arrange an easy meeting point for you.
