15:30: Meet at accommodations
15:50 (1 hour): Drive up Coast and stop at lookoffs
17:00: Arrive at Trailhead
17:15 (60 minutes): Walk to lookoff and stop to see wildlife
18:30: Arrive at lookoff, exchange vows
19:00: Explore and take photos for sunset
20:30 (60 minutes): Walk back to trailhead
21:30: Drive to beach by accommodations for a bonfire
22:15: Coverage ends

Your Cabot Trail Wedding - Tips & Infos

  • Air travel to Nova Scotia: You have the option to either fly into the Halifax International airport (drive 4-hours to Cape Breton) or Sydney, Cape Breton airport
  • Car rentals are necessary. You can rent a car in Halifax or in Sydney, Cape Breton
  • Meeting points: The Cape Breton highlands are an hour to 2 hours drive from the Sydney airport.
  • Cape Breton Highlands: There are a few different small towns in the highlands
  • Meals must be planned in advance because most grocery stores close early and restaurants can have unplanned closures.
  • Small, simple ceremonies in existing visitor areas work best.
