Elope in Alberta and experience an unforgettable elopement or vow renewal far from a crowded place and yet a UNESCO site. We created this package for adventurers who need something more than the usual Instagram stuff.
Imagine exchanging vows on the top of a hoodoo during sunset with the river below and a 360 view! In winter and early spring, those hoodoos could be covered with snow! But it’s not crazy snow as we have a warm wind called the Chinook. Late spring and fall are also beautiful there and the temperature is perfect!
Elope in South Alberta, on the land of the Blackfoot People or NiitsÃtapi, and features beautiful geological structures ‘hoodoos’ found in southern Alberta. With our package, you’ll be surrounded by a fantastic, remote setting. Stunning rock formations, desert landscapes, canyons, and a serene river below create a breathtaking backdrop for your special day.

Meet your Alberta Wedding Photographers
Hello, we are Samuel & Virginie.
We have worked as a team for over 12 years now.
As South Canadian Elopement planners and photographers, we propose getting married or renewing vows in places far from tourists and overly-seen locations.
We value the intimacy and wild beauty of the South Albertan Canadian desert. Since 2012, we’ve been helping couples from all over the world design the perfect Alberta Elopement adventure.
We started in Tahiti (Moorea to be exact) and then on Vancouver Island. Since 2023, we have some destinations on top of these: south Alberta with the magic mountains, the wild prairies, and the hoodoos. We are bilingual and speak French and English. We still have a studio and Photographer in Tahiti.
Our goal is not only to provide photos but also to ensure that our couple has an authentic, completely personalizable Writing-on-stone wedding experience and goes home with memories to cherish forever! Elope in Alberta, and we’ll share plenty of laughs while admiring the breathtaking landscapes together. It’s an experience about humans and nature, about love and sharing.
Elope in Alberta - Itinerary
The timing of your Alberta elopement will vary based on the sunset. Here’s an example for April:
3:45 pm – We will meet downtown Milk River or at your accommodation
4:00 pm – Arrival at the site, with photos on the west side and climbing the hoodoos—the perfect spot to exchange vows and share a moment of connection
4:30 to 6:30 pm – We’ll explore the rock formations and canyons on the east side, taking photos, hiking, and learning about the rock carvings. Depending on the season, we can also visit the prairie or head down to the river for a view of the hoodoos from below. Throughout, we’ll stop at various stunning spots with breathtaking views if you choose to elope in Alberta.
6:30 pm – Sweet organic French pastries homemade with bubbles (Champagne or organic juice as you prefer) for the couple on a cool rock
7:00 pm – Enjoying other views around the sunset
8:00 pm – End of your Writing on Stone Wedding

Elope in Alberta - Tips & Infos
The weather is unpredictable in the mountains, and you might need a summer jacket and a winter T-shirt during your Writing-on-stone elopement.
Wear comfortable hiking shoes if you elope in Alberta to enjoy the best of the wilderness and clothes for all seasons.
It’s a desert, so there is a 90% chance of having a big blue sky with a warm sun even in winter, but it could be a bit windy, so be prepared.
If you choose May, please make sure to come before the 17th as after that there are more people.
Make sure to have a car if you elope in Alberta (either your own or a rental) to explore and enjoy the area. It’s quite remote, so public transportation isn’t an option. This park is amazing, with plenty of rocks to climb and explore—you’ll feel like a kid again! It’s authentic and wild, and you’re going to love it!
We can also assist you in choosing restaurants for the evening and making accommodation suggestions.
If you wish to bring friends or family, we will start with the elopement close to Lethbridge. In that case, you will have 2 hours in Writing on Stone, and we will focus on the west side. If you want an officiant, we would be honored to be your witnesses if needed.
We prefer to give you different options for the ceremony with the officiant and to adapt to the season. For example, if you choose to elope in South Alberta the ceremony can take place near the lake or on a prairie. We already have options for you, and we will guide you to choose the best.
Elope in Alberta - Add-ons
Guests (up to 8 persons) can join at no additional cost. However, guests are responsible for their own transportation expenses. They may attend the ceremony but will not have access to the park, which will be reserved for the couple’s photo session only.
