• Climate: Beautiful weather year-round with a short wet season between November-February. Temperatures generally average between 50-70 F for the year. Winter rainstorms do happen and this is usually the only time of year when weather can interfere with plans because mudslides can occur during heavy rainfalls. The best time to plan a visit is in the summer, but any time between March and October will make for pleasant weather. Wildfires–although uncommon–do occur as well.

Big Sur Photoshoot Adventure - Itinerary

Each Big Sur photoshoot adventure is customized for each couple I work with. During the planning stages, we will discuss in detail what scenery you are hoping to capture along with your photos. We can spend all our time in one spot, or experience several locations within the timeframe of your Big Sur photoshoot to get more variety.

Typically, couples love to visit minimum (2) spots during their Big Sur photoshoot adventure. I highly recommend visiting a coastal spot along with a forest area, so you can really experience what Big Sur has to offer.

Big Sur Photoshoot Adventure – sample itinerary:

• Meet at Garrapata State Park, meet & greet for 10 minutes and make sure we have everything we need
• Start hike and stay for 45 minutes-1 hour in this first location
• Travel along Highway 1 and stop along various pull-outs for more photos, including Bixby Creek Bridge
• Go to the Big Sur Tap House for celebration drinks!

• I highly recommend having your Big Sur photoshoot adventure during the week, as it’s best to avoid weekends in Big Sur due to high tourism.
• Check for highway 1 closures
• Know the plan in detail: Big Sur has extremely limited cell service!

• Even when having your Big Sur photoshoot adventure in the summer months, pack layers as it can still get cooler in the evenings with the wind
• Sturdy shoes (please no heels)
