Meet your Alaska Elopement Photographer

Alaska Elopement PhotographerHello, I am Emelia.

I have lived in Alaska all but 6 months of my life and absolutely love getting to share some of my favorite places in this beautiful place! As a photographer, my goal is to make my couples feel comfortable and genuine in front of the camera. I love to fill galleries with lots of candid, and give prompts rather than poses leading to joyful photos that tell a true love story. I want you to look back at your photos months and years down the road, and feel every special part of your Hatcher Pass Wedding.

Your Alaska Elopement - Tips & Infos

  • Alaska can be an unforgiving place with severe weather that can change quickly. To prepare your Alaska Elopement, I recommend dressing in layers and bringing along extra clothes in case it’s very rainy and wet. It is better to have too many clothes than not enough! If wearing a wedding dress, make sure it’s one that you can easily move around in, use an outhouse in, and hike in (and that you don’t mind getting dirty!).
  • We will meet at the large parking area behind Hatcher Pass Lodge but before Independence Mine. There is a self-pay parking station at the lot where you can pay $5 for daily parking.
  • After taking portraits there, we will drive up a steep road to Summit Lake. It is a very bumpy gravel road so you will want to drive very carefully!
  • The hike up to April Bowl is very steep at first but offers amazing views. There are some uneven rocks to hike up so be sure to have hiking boots with good traction.
  • Pack snacks and water to keep you energized throughout the Hatcher Pass Wedding! This is an option to add on a picnic.
