Getting Ready || We’ll kick off your day at your hotel with the getting ready portion. This is your time to relax, put the finishing touches on your vows, and enjoy the excitement of those last little preparations. I’ll be there capturing all the special details—the little moments, touches, and emotions that make your Tuscany Elopement truly one-of-a-kind.
Engagement || Next, we’ll head to our chosen spots for a pre-wedding session. This is your chance to soak in the stunning Tuscan landscapes and enjoy your last moments as fiancés, taking it all in before your big “I do.”
Ceremony || Then, we’ll make our way to your Tuscany Elopement location—whether it’s a cypress-lined road, an olive grove, a vineyard, or a field of wildflowers or golden wheat. You’ll exchange your vows surrounded by the beauty of the landscape, and afterward, we can either stay in the same spot or explore another classic Tuscan view as the sun slowly sets.
Celebration || We’ll wrap up your special day, enjoying the breathtaking sunset behind the hills—maybe even with a glass of wine or prosecco in hand to celebrate your new beginning.
We can tailor your elopement location to your wishes, even to a specific spot you’ve found on Google Maps! The Val d’Orcia region is full of stunning, iconic Tuscan spots, so there’s plenty to choose from, and we’ll find the perfect one for your day.
Ceremony Venue
The ceremony can take place wherever you dream it, whether it’s a quiet public spot among the trees, a golden field, or even at the Airbnb or villa you’re renting. Tuscany is full of incredible options, so we can find the perfect location to match your vision. The ceremony location is included in your elopement package, and there’s no extra charge for choosing any of these beautiful spots.
Legal Marriage Information
I can definitely help you get in touch with the local municipalities or assist in finding a planner who can handle the official paperwork. However, I’m not able to personally go to the offices or complete the legal process on your behalf.
Italy’s legal marriage process can be very complicated, which is why I highly recommend symbolic elopements for most couples.
Here’s why:
- Legal ceremonies are highly bureaucratic, with lots of documents that need to be prepared, legalized, and signed. This can take time and sometimes be costly (sending papers to the Consulate, requiring documents, sending them to the town of your choice, etc).
- A translator is required for legal ceremonies, and in small towns, it may be challenging to find someone who speaks or writes English fluently, which can make the paperwork even trickier. You also need 2 witnesses, and I can be one of them, but still you would need another one^
- Legal ceremonies often need to be scheduled at specific times dictated by the municipality, which may not be ideal for photography or capturing the best light.
- Each town has its own rules about whether civil ceremonies can be held at certain locations, so flexibility is limited.
A symbolic elopement, on the other hand, allows you to choose the perfect location, time, and experience—while still celebrating your love beautifully in Tuscany, without all the legal hurdles and making it as bespoke as you would like to!
